The Kentucky corn and soybean harvest has begun and will continue into the fall. Both of these crops have a significant impact on the local economy, providing food, feed, renewable fuels, renewable fibers, and industrial products. There are about 7,000 grain farmers in Kentucky, growing these crops in every county. Wheat is also a major crop for Kentucky farmers, and it will be planted this fall to be harvested in late spring and early summer.
