"We have developed many Kentucky-specific lessons and activities that we are providing to workshop participants," said Elwell. "This program will allow us to get those materials into the hands of experienced teachers on a regular basis."
The Sponsor A Classroom program has two options. A $100 basic sponsorship will provide a teacher, teaching team, or school a kit of several, grade-appropriate lessons and activities, a teaching guide that lists Kentucky Academic Standards and grade level modifications, and a subscription to the monthly agriculture literacy newsletter. Sponsors or the kit recipient will have the option to purchase additional resources as they become available. A $250 premium membership will provide the same benefits and resources, but any new resources will be sent to the recipient automatically for the life of the program.
While many of the lessons are available on the KyAEC website (teachkyag.org), the sponsorship provides access to printed materials and activity supplies needed for the different lessons. The kit also includes a flash drive full of resources such as ad-free videos and digital presentations.
