Momentum is gaining with our Sponsor-A-Classroom program! We recently presented a teacher workshop and outfitted 28 teachers thanks to the Hardin County Farm Bureau and their Young Farmers committee. An additional 8 independent and parochial classrooms will be sponsored by the Hardin County Cattlemen's Association. Hancock County Farm Bureau and the Warren County Agriculture Foundation/Warren Co. Farm Bureau have also committed to sponsoring 20 or more classroom kits each, which will provide them dedicated teacher workshops next year. Additional meetings have been scheduled with local agricultural boards to consider sponsorships.
This program provides ready-to-use, Kentucky Academic Standards-aligned classroom materials and lessons plans for teachers. There are three kits available, depending on grade level: primary, intermediate, and secondary. Sponsors may choose to purchase a one-time basic kit, or they may purchase a premium kit which provides additional lessons and resources to the teachers or schools when they become available.
See a list of lessons that come in each kit.
Any organization that sponsors 10 or more kits in their community receives a dedicated workshop to help the teachers get the most out of their new resources. A teacher attending the Hardin County workshop had this to say:

KyAEC Educational Coordinator Rachel Wilson has been tasked with encouraging more organizations to consider this program for their communities, and she has met with several boards and school district superintendents with much excitement.
If you are interested in bringing this program to your teachers, please contact Rachel Wilson at rachel@teachkyag.org or 270-706-3354. Rachel will be happy to attend your board meeting with a sample teaching kit. We also suggest to invite your county school superintendent and/or instructional coordinator. That has been a formula for success!
